Battle Combat 2: Advanced Gun Shooting 7

Hey, another new video, sort of.  This is actually what I had intended to do two posts ago but I had to limit myself due to time constraints, but now I'm back and so is nameless, faceless, generic gun-shoot soldier man.  Looks like NFGGSS Man has gone through some training this time cuz he actually hits some stuff for a change.  This project was actually really nerve-racking, not because it was especially difficult, but because the After Effects file took 34 hours to render and, of course, we got some pretty nasty weather halfway through it.  Luckily everything survived and I was able to complete the video, but don't just take my word for it.  Take a look.

Also just to be clear, I do not own or claim rights to the background music.
Track: Emerald Electric
Artist: Douglas Holmquist

Can't Go That Way

I don't have a whole lot to say about this one.  I shot the footage myself and applied a motion tracker to add in the hologram thingy.  That and I applied so many effects and filters to the hologram to make it look right.  Have a look.

War of Duty 9: Modern Shoot Battle 5: Reck-gun-ing

Man, this project.  I decided to use After Effects in probably one of the least suited ways I could conceive of.  The environment is full 3D with real time lighting, textures, and animations.  All I can say is that, after having used programs like Maya, boy is After Effects less than ideal for this kind of stuff.  It's almost as if Adobe never intended it to be used as such.  Well that didn't stop me from making a little Wolfenstein/Doom-esque video with some added lip sync for good measure.  The audio used was entirely recorded by me using a voice-changing Ultron mask I got for my birthday one year.  I knew that would come in handy at some point.  Anyway, enjoy.

Weird Businessmen

Here is yet another After Effects video that I made, this time messing with color correction and blending modes.  Overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I want to draw special attention to the moon.  The source video I used for the clouds is during daylight only with no moon, and yet in mine, it turns to night and has the moon go behind the clouds.  I'm kind of unreasonably proud of the end result I got just with that one aspect of the video.  But don't take my word for how cool it is, check it out here.

Holy Crap, Look At This Guy...

I've actually had this animation finished for a while, I've just never gone and rigged up the camera to record a video of it until now.  It's a full character animation and I went ahead and filmed it from a couple angles so you can get a good look.  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.  Obviously the texture work is pretty much nonexistent, but I was doing this purely for the animation aspect of it.  I will go ahead and say I did not make the base rig (the actual dude) but I did sculpt and rig up all of the armor around him myself as well as all of the scenery.  Since this is multiple videos, I'll put most if this after the jump.  Enjoy.

Here's some stills to kick things off.  Videos after the jump.

WitchcrAfter Effects

I've done animation on paper, in Flash, in Maya, and following this post, After Effects.  This came about after playing around with masks and flourish reveals.  All in all it's fairly simple but I'm happy with it.  Thats about it, have a look.

For those of you who were curious, the text is just the lyrics to "It Has to Be This Way (Platinum Mix)" from the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance OST.  It doesn't mean anything, its just what I was listening to when I made this.

Women

If you caught last post, you'll probably have seen some of my work with 3D modeling as far as sculpting and texturing are concerned.  The next logical step is animating, of course, and I just so happen to have a piece of 3D animation right on hand.  The mesh for the head was made by Tim Mrozek and the audio comes from "'Tis Women Makes Us Love" by the Baltimore Consort, but the rigging and animating of the model is all my own work.  Enjoy.

Here's What I've Been Up To...

As in keeping with this blog's theme, here is everything I've been working on over the last lengthy hiatus.  A lot of this will consist of projects given to me as well as some of my own endeavors for good measure.  More after the jump.  Enjoy.

I don't know what this is supposed to be but I made it and I kinda like it.
